Alistair Forbes

CEO

Alistair is a tech entrepreneur and investor who has worked in and with many early and growth stage businesses in Scotland and around the world. He is a passionate supporter of projects that harness technology for impact and is committed to making the Scottish Tech Army a vibrant hub for tech for good initiatives and activity across Scotland, creating scalable change and a step change in impact.


Kirsty McIntosh

Executive Director

Kirsty joined the Scottish Tech Army as an early volunteer and later became part of the core team, helping drive UK-wide growth through the Tech for Good Alliance. Her focus is on building cross-sector partnerships to harness technology for social impact. She is also Chair of Trustees for Motherwell & District Women's Aid.


Michael von Euw

Head of Applications

Michael has an international business management background in manufacturing and hospitality, specialising in ERP systems. He has experienced first-hand the importance of pairing the correct solution for the task at hand. With a passion for further learning and education, he believes that knowledge should be shared and nurtured to help bring out the best in people.


Tracey Curran

Project & Programme Manager

Tracey brings extensive experience to the Scottish Tech Army. Her career spans over twenty years supporting charities and not‑for‑profit organisations – including Victim Support Scotland, Lifelink, Seafarers’ Charity, and Red Tractor – where she led people‑centred digital and operational improvements. This includes over seven years in consulting and three years managing industry‑wide digital and data strategies.

Alice is a writer, creative, and digital marketer who joined the Scottish Tech Army in 2026. She is focused on telling the stories of the work done by skilled volunteers and corporate partners on our various marketing channels – using graphics, video, and written content. From planning campaigns to creating day-to-day content, she helps bring the impact of Tech for Good to life in accessible and engaging ways.

Janet McArthur

Head of Projects & Programmes

Janet is a Programme Management Professional who supports projects from scoping to delivery, working closely with skilled volunteers and corporate partners. With a background in IT programme management, she’s worked with Rolls-Royce IT Triage and also managed her own Voluntary Community Project for over 10 years — which was visited by Prince William and Katherine, Princess of Wales.

Sandy Finlayson

Sandy was a co-founder and Senior Partner at Edinburgh-based law firm MBM Commercial. He sits on the CivTech Advisory Group and served for four years as Chair of Converge Challenge, Scotland’s leading company creation programme for Scottish Universities and Research Institutes. Sandy is an active Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and has held and continues to hold many other advisory and Chair roles with third sector organisations.

Suzanne Wishart

Suzanne is an experienced Senior Business Analyst with a specialized focus on Financial Services and large-scale Digital Transformation. She excels at eliciting complex requirements and translating high-level goals into actionable, bite-sized solutions and has been volunteering on our Triage team since November 2025, bringing a pragmatic and dependable approach to every project. She is a badminton fan and has a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.


Alan Rae

Alan is a veteran of the software industry with 28 years of experience, including 16 years in leadership roles. His career has spanned a range of sectors—including Finance, Telecoms, Energy, AdTech, and AI—where he has built and led high-performing engineering teams. Alan thrives on helping individuals evolve into great leaders, believing that the strength of a team is the ultimate differentiator in any industry.


Raymond O’Hare

Raymond is an experienced leader and independent chairman, non-executive director and advisor. He is a strategic thinker with a pragmatic outlook, and broad business leadership experience; with a successful track record at corporate, SME and start-up levels. He is a non-executive board member of Scottish Enterprise and an advisor to the global ground transportation business - TBR Global, as well as his role with the Scottish Tech Army.

Archie Gray

Archie is still enthusiastic after over 40 years in IT and got hooked on volunteering at sporting events 20 years ago; he is now active on both fronts, working with the Scottish Tech Army. He is an experienced ITIL and PRINCE2‑qualified IT manager with a strong track record in applications and operations management, supplier management and client‑focused IT support, known for building and leading high‑performing teams and consistently meeting service level targets.


Crawford Heriot

Crawford is a seasoned professional with over 23 years of experience navigating the complexities of the Investment Management industry. He is now dedicated to social impact as a committed charity volunteer. He balances this with an active personal life–you'll find him on the padel court, skiing, traveling the world on a motorcycle, or applying his skills as a practical handyman.

Annie Brown

An expert analyst programmer holding five degrees, Annie is a systems specialist with a career spanning over three decades. From Director of IT at ICAS to launching her own firm, Hence, she has mastered migration, security, and logistics for clients like Red Tractor and Victim Support Scotland. Driven by a love for "doing" and lifelong learning, she now brings her vast technical expertise to STA. Outside tech, she is a Red Cross volunteer and rowing enthusiast.


Andy Steele

Andy joined the Scottish Tech Army in 2023. He's a seasoned leader with extensive strategic change experience in Technology, Operations and Chief Data Offices across Corporate & Investment Banking, Wealth Management and Retail Banking. He's also a Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Engineer & Cloud Architect, and has a Ph.D in Artificial Intelligence.
