Our Tech for Good partners - Microsoft
There are so many different ways the tech for good ecosystem works. This month we’ve some good news to share with you on the work we’re doing with one of our partners, Microsoft.
For the past few months, Microsoft has been working with us to provide many of the organisations we support and many of our volunteers with training on everything from Teams to Excel, OneDrive and all points in between. It’s been extremely well received and it’s great to see people learning how to make the most of the applications they work with. We’ve had really positive feedback and we’re very grateful to the Microsoft delivery teams for making this possible. If a bit more Microsoft know-how appeals to you, you’ll find all the sessions on our Vimeo channel.
We have also been working with Microsoft to help us build the tech for good ecosystem in Scotland. Microsoft has one of the largest partner networks in Scotland and we recently presented to a group of Microsoft partners to tell them about the work of the Scottish Tech Army and the potential for partners to play an active part in the ecosystem by offering their employees skilled volunteering opportunities with us. Microsoft technologies are widely used by third sector organisations but many of them are not equipped or experienced to make best use of them - Microsoft partners are uniquely placed to help address this and thereby to make these organisations more productive and effective in carrying out the valuable work they do. We’re very grateful to Microsoft’s Julian Goncalves and Andrew Ord for making the session possible and we look forward to working with them as we develop these relationships further
Finally, we recently made contact with the Tech for Social Impact team within Microsoft. Its role is to ensure that charities are making the most of the free licensing allocations available to all registered charities. These cover most of Microsoft’s products including cloud storage, CRM and Office 365. You can check to see if your organisation is eligible and register for access to the programme here.
