Supported Security Review

Charities hold funds, personal, financial and commercial data (and other information) that is of interest or monetary value to a range of cyber criminals and other groups.

As a charity you are likely to hold sensitive data that is valuable to cyber criminals and could be vulnerable to attack. Asking if your charity is vulnerable is a scary question to ask.

Equally, understanding if your charity is ‘at risk’ is something that you may not want to discover alone. The STA offers a supported review of your security set-up - our expert volunteers will talk to you in plain language, helping you understand what the various terms mean, what ‘ways of working’ are more secure and what habits should be avoided.

A Supported Review.

Over an agreed period, typically 8-10 weeks we will work with you to improve your security set-up.

This review will not lead to a Cyber Essentials accreditation but could be used to prepare you for this more rigorous assessment and improve your understanding of the risks.

If you have a technology team would recommend that you explore the ‘Exercise in a box’ offered by the SBRC - see here.

We offer a supported framework that aims to take you through the various steps. We want to ensure that you are able to understand and implement any recommendations we make.
